I am sooo happy for your entire family. Bo and I are in florida on our FIRST KID FREE ZONE holiday in years. YAY!

Yes, J.M is quite insensitive, and made me cry a zillion times, but that was the small price to pay for keeping my kids. I totally get it.

Thanks for reading my journey, things are working out for my little man! God keeps watching over him.
The court system can not only be a gamble but certainly, or what I have viewed through my experience, can be unjust. It frightens me that the my son's little precious life lies in one man, the judge (who reminds me of the elderly judge on Boston Legal who says "poopie cock" if you ever saw that show).
It must be the hardest thing in the world for your partner to deny her rights as a mother.
My prayers are with her!
Thankfully my son gets to experience his crazy zany mamma and all my colors.
One day maybe the universe will recognize the LGBT community as parents, friends, siblings .... ummm better yet HUMANS! I believe in Karma, so I KNOW everything will work out as long as I keep my faith and paying it forward.

We went through a draining visitation experience with the court system for Lois' girls with her ex. Lois was the primary caretaker. We ended up settling for a visitation agreement that to me is very one-sided, but at least Lois gets to see her daughters. She is not allowed to represent herself as a "parent" to them, but they will know the truth someday.
Your perspective is healthy, as hard as it is to take.
Being through it, being a lawyer and watching others go through it, some people lose themselves in the battle and forget that it should be always about the child, not the adults.
I wish you all the luck I can send your way. And our thoughts and prayers are with your son.

He's got this girl named Hannah - who has him hooked! Ygads!
He was telling me this morning that he holds her hand in the playground so that she doesn't fall. I said what a kind heart, dude. He was like "you always say that about me" and smiled. I said "cuz it is so true". Then he was washing himself and he said, "ooohh Hannah is going to love me today because I smell gooooddd".
He put three Starburst in his lunch box today, one for Hannah, Jacob and himself.
I love that kid! I keep saying, "this is the big year for him to grow his empathy button". I think all the spiritual moral work I am teaching him is working because the other day he said he didn't want his old shoes anymore so I said I will throw them away, he said "No Mamma we have to give them to a kid that really needs them." Ahhhh I think good will prevail! Life is grand!

Ditto my friend Ditto and in my world I am also the "hands on man" since my girl is always broken with injuries... I have become the "hulk" with "terminator" arms from taking out air conditioners out of windows and moving furniture around rooms while I put a third coat of paint to cover up a "yesterday" color.
Times like these I wish I was holding a phone to my ear while sipping on a Starbucks and chatting with my co workers. But I am blessed- because I have the moment when I can say "Do you want mommy to drive you to school today?" That is just a gift!
